Looking as if she's ready to hit primetime television, Jennifer Lopez is reportedly taking on the job of "American Idol" judge.

With a report from Deadline telling that the "El Cantante" actress has come to turns with FOX, an insider tells People magazine, “It’s true. She’s excited about it.”

The news comes just after Ellen DeGeneres announced her decision to leave the hit musical competition show after just one season.

With Simon Cowell also departing ahead of season 10, Steven Tyler has been mentioned as the other needed replacement.

Looking to be doing much better after recently falling ill, Cheryl Cole was spotted touching down at LAX Airport in Los Angeles, California on Thursday night (July 29).

Following an 11-hour flight from London, the former Girls Aloud babe wore a blue jumpsuit as she trekked through the arrivals terminal with dancer Derek Hough.

Rumored to be an item ever since Hough starred in her "Parachute" video, the "Dancing with the Stars" champ quickly separated from his "X Factor" gal upon passing a pack of paparazzi outside the metro airport.

Venturing out for a late night talk show stop, Jennifer Aniston was on-hand for the "Tonight Show" at NBC Studios in Burbank, California on Thursday (July 29).

The former "Friends" star looked darling in black as she spent time conversing with Jay Leno while promoting her upcoming movie "The Switch" - which hits theaters on August 20th.

During the course of the interview, Jay asked Jen if she would be willing to go to a bank to get pregnant (a la The Switch), to which Jen replied, "Jeez, that question's never been asked to me."

Thrown off a bit by the idea and ready for Leno to play a movie clip, Miss Aniston added, "You go to the bank and you have a card...I honestly don't know exactly."

They’re both old pros when it comes to publicity events, and last night (July 29) Ashley Tisdale and Aly Michalka were spotted at the 2010 Summer TCA Tour.

The “High School Musical” babe and the “Phil of the Future” hottie both looked lovely as they posed for the paparazzi at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.

Ashley and Aly were in the house to promote their brand new show “Hellcats” coming to the CW this fall.

Enjoying her time overseas, Audrina Patridge was spotted making her way to the London Eye for an interview in London, England earlier today (July 30).

Getting plenty of company as her time behind bars draws close to an end, Lindsay Lohan welcomed three visitors at the Century Regional Detention Facility on Thursday (July 29).

Not on the guest list but ever so present, the Lynwood site also brought out avid protester, Jake Byrd, who strongly shouted out, "Free the Lohan 1!" and "Lindsay's innocent!".

Joined by a few fellow Lohan fans, Byrd's peaceful protest also saw him holding up signs reading, "Stop Snitching" and "Free My Love Bug".

Making the most of a day off of work, Kim Kardashian was spotted arriving at the Nail Design Salon for a little pampering in Los Angeles on Thursday (July 29).

Looking sexy in white ripped jeans and a black blazer, the E! reality star treated herself to a simultaneous massage/mani/pedi before going to grab lunch to-go at M Cafe de Chaya on Melrose Avenue.

Also giving a shout out to her youngest sister, who just landed a modeling gig with Sears at the age of 13, Miss Kardashian tweeted, "So proud of u Kylie!!!! my sisters are superstars!"

Pulling the plug after just one season, Ellen DeGeneres will no longer be taking a seat in the judge's booth on "American Idol".

Releasing a statement on Thursday (July 29), Ellen told, “A couple months ago, I let FOX and the American Idol producers know that this didn’t feel like the right fit for me."

She continues, “I told them I wouldn’t leave them in a bind and that I would hold off on doing anything until they were able to figure out where they wanted to take the panel next. It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I bargained for."

The daytime talk show host finishes, “I also realized this season that while I love discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings. I loved the experience working on Idol and I am very grateful for the year I had, I am a huge fan of the show and will continue to be.”

Back out for another day of practice, Nicole Scherzinger was spotted working on the Los Angeles production of Rent in Hollywood, California on Thursday (July, 29).

Readying for her role as Maureen, the casually dressed former Pussycat Dolls singer looked to be taking an upsetting phone call while heading to her car after the day's rehearsals.

Also tending to her Rent duties the previous day, the 32-year-old was a bit more chipper as she toted her script while clad in a white tank top, grey sweats and black ballet flats.

With the show set to take place at the Hollywood Bowl from August 6-8, producer Neil Patrick Harris previously joked of Miss Scherzinger, "Nicole had a wonderful audition - she was well prepared, sang beautifully, and had us all laughing. If only she was somewhat attractive and didn’t have two left feet…"

Stepping out for an important personal errand, Kelly Brook was spotted heading to a dentist’s office in Los Angeles, California on Thursday (July 29).

With a bottle of Fiji water in hand, the “Strictly Come Dancing” star made her way inside the office building while sporting a long summery dress and wedge sandals.

The sighting comes just as Ms Brook recently defended her decision to appear in a bikini in almost every scene of her new 3-D movie, “Piranha,” after receiving criticism for the part.

Kelly told press, “If people want to cast me in roles for my body or how I look, I'm just going to embrace that because that's not going to be the case forever.”

She added, “It doesn't make me any less important than anyone else in the movie just because I'm in a bikini.”
