She surprised everyone, including herself, when her debut book L.A. Candy hit the bestseller list.  And now Lauren Conrad has scored a deal to make it into a movie.

The former “Hills” hottie, who was spotted partying with former castmate Lauren ‘Lo’ Bosworth for her 23rd birthday at MI-6 last night, will serve as executive producer of the film which has just been licensed by Temple Hill Entertainment.

Temple Hill producer Marty Bowen told press, “Lauren, who became an icon in that reality show world, came to us with a structure of how to tell the story in an interesting fashion that was separate and apart from the book.”

He continued, “We loved her take. Her book is an honest portrayal of what it must be like to set out to be normal, then sign on to become famous and eventually realize, wow, this isn’t at all what I’d planned for myself.”

Stepping out for a good cause, AnnaLynne McCord was among those joining the Somaly Mam foundation as it hosted the 2nd annual Los Angeles Gala held at a private residence in Beverly Hills on Tuesday night (September 29).

Always playful in front of the cameras, the “90210” hottie posed for a few pictures before greeting and having a short chat with the foundation’s namesake, Somaly Mam.

Meanwhile, recent reports tell that Miss McCord has been doing everything in her power to land on the cover of Cosmoplitan – which she believes will boost her star power.

Having posed for a photo session earlier this month, an insider said: “The shoot will make at least an eight-page spread, but she is desperate for it to be a cover.”

Still wading through the legal quagmire, John Travolta took the stand this morning (September 30) in the extortion lawsuit surrounding the death of his son Jett earlier this year.

According to a report, the “Pulp Fiction” star testified that one of his employees, Ronald Zupanic, initially notified him of Pleasant Bridgewater and Tarino Lightbourne’s plot to blackmail him into giving them money in exchange for them not releasing a report that John somehow contributed to his son’s death.

At that point, Travolta’s lawyer Michael McDermott was involved and he discovered that the two men were looking to get $25 million to keep their story quiet.

After today’s testimony, it is believed that Travolta may be called again later in the trial to testify, depending on how the defense proceeds.

Out as a participant in the evening’s festivities, Julianne Hough was all smiles at a free live concert and movie screening of “The Wizard of Oz” on Tuesday (September 29).

The 21-year-old country cutie was joined by her pop Lexi, chatting it up with fellow performer Jennifer Hudson upon arriving at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park.

Tweeting to her dancing friend Travis Wall after the show, Miss Hough wrote, “Wish you were here tonight hung out with chace… So much fun!!! LOL”

Already up and about this morning, Hough once again hit up her pal, writing: “I’m on my way to Mohegan sun it’s 2hrs from ny so we are just driving… we had a blast last night but totally missed you!”

Enjoying a beautiful day in Paris, France, Lindsay Lohan was spotted leaving her hotel and heading to the Unargo boutique earlier today (September 30).

The “Mean Girls” actress, who was hired on by the designer as a creative director, looked to be in good spirits as she passed the paparazzi, sporting a grey top with slim fit jeans and white shoes.

Yesterday, LiLo and her sister Ali arrived in the City of Lights for the business trip and were immediately hounded by shutterbugs as they left Charles de Gaulle Airport.

But not to worry, they found a surefire way of distracting themselves- an immediate retail romp at the Gucci and Dior boutiques.

It seems that Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag have hit a precarious place in their marriage- Pratt says he has been denying his new wife sex for fear that she may get pregnant.

During a recent interview, Spencer confessed that he’s afraid of becoming a father just yet, and is going out of his way to make sure that doesn’t happen.

“I’m not even kidding, my wife – OK, I’m gonna get crass here – but we’re barely having sex because I’m scared that she’s gonna have a baby.  That’s the level our marriage is on right now. I’m not even kidding – my wife has me debating cutting off my nuts.”

Spencer added that he fears Heidi may stop taking her birth control pills without telling him because of her desire to become a mother.  “She’s not the kind of person who would lie – she would just walk away and not answer the question.  So yes, I’m very concerned. Our sex life has dramatically changed recently.”

Meanwhile, it was recently announced that Paramount Pictures will finally be releasing Renee’s movie “Case 39” in theaters across the country on January 1, 2010 – delayed from the expected 2008 release date.

The flick is about “A social worker (Zellweger) who fights to save a girl from her abusive parents, only to discover that the situation is more dangerous than she ever expected.”

Tending to her motherly responsibilities, Heidi Klum was spotted picking up her kids from their Karate class in Los Angeles yesterday (September 29).

The “Project Runway” babe looked very preggers as she held hands with her daughter Leni, with sons Henry and Johan following close by.

In a recent interview, Ms. Klum explained that rather than blaming the fashion and entertainment industries for eating disorders, parents should be held responsible for instilling good habits and self-esteem in their children.

“You can’t look at Hollywood and blame it, you have to make up your own mind whether you want to be fit, or super skinny. You can’t blame other people. It’s your own choice and if you have children, it is up to the parent to educate your children so they are healthy and they don’t go into a direction of anorexia or obesity.  It is up to you as a parent, it is hard to feed children right. I deal with it on a daily basis; it is much harder to make sure they eat right.”

She has been enjoying her Broadway debut in “After Miss Julie,” and last night (September 29) Sienna Miller was spotted heading home after the show.

The “Factory Girl” actress looked to be in good spirits as she made her exit from the American Airlines Theatre in New York City, stopping to greet a few fans before heading on her way.

And it sounds like Miss Miller has really blossomed into a bona fide stage actor with her role as a young woman who seduces her wealthy father’s chauffeur.

During the preview performances, one critic wrote, “Tonight was her first time, and that’s absolutely amazing.  She’s pretty fearless.  She really embodies the role.”

Stepping out for an evening of excitement, Lauren Conrad was spotted helping her gal pal Lauren ‘Lo’ Bosworth celebrate her 23rd birthday last night (September 29).

Both ladies looked lovely as they hit up West Hollywood hotspot MI-6 with a gaggle of girlfriends to commemorate the special occasion.

Earlier in the day, Lo was spotted hanging out with “Hills” costar Stephanie Pratt as she made her way around Beverly Hills.

Miss Bosworth and Miss Pratt hit up Alice + Olivia boutique and Sephora before stopping into a local eatery for some lunch.
